Baxterley Village

Leisure Activities

The outstanding natural beauty of the area with its wide diversity of fauna and flora make it a haven for cyclists and walkers.

The Parish Church is one of the best in the area with its spectacular stained glass windows and rare architectural features. It is well known for its annual flower festival and the masses of spring flowers in its grounds.

The area is rich in history with extensive archaeological finds at the nearby Roman Fort of Mancetter.  Also it now seems fairly certain that the true site of the Battle of Bosworth was fought close by as can be clearly seen by the ‘compensation orders’ granted by Henry VII for damage caused by his troops  as awarded to the Abbey of Merivale and nearby villages.
